Conservation Activities
Management of domestic cats
Domestic cats can disturb the Tsushima Leopard Cat’s existence by infectious disease or fighting. To encourage proper keeping of pet cats, the “Domestic cat’s management committee of Tsushima’ has been campaigning to keep cats indoors, and for them to be neutered.
Keeping dogs on leash
We are observing about stray/leaving dogs and calling on dog-owners not to leave their dogs off the leash.
Controlling the population of deer and boar
Because vegetation of Tsushima has been damaged seriously by deers, the rodents, Tsushima Leopard Cat’s main
food, are facing a difficulty to survive.
Local governments are working with the conservationists to find
better ways to control their populations without disturbing the Leopard Cats.
